Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon was the very first wine the winery produced when it was founded in 1980, and this bottling continues that legacy using exclusively Napa Valley fruit from both Rombauer family vineyards and carefully selected sites from the region's top growers. The color is intense and beautiful, almost black with purple and reddish hues, while aromas of black cherry, cassis, piecrust, spice, and mint leap from the glass. The palate is full and concentrated, echoing those same notes alongside black currant and sweet red cherry, with oak seamlessly integrated throughout. Signature finely structured tannins and balanced acidity give way to a long finish that continues to build after the last sip. It pairs well with beef, lamb, pork, smoked meats, aged cheeses, red berries, and chocolate — an excellent choice for a special dinner or a serious collector's cellar.
