Product Highlights
Planteray Fiji Islands 2009 Vintage Rum (sold as Plantation prior to the 2024 rebrand) is a single-vintage rum produced at the Rum Co. of Fiji from cane grown in the islands' volcanic soil. It spent 8.5 years tropically aging in bourbon casks, followed by two years of continental aging in French Ferrand casks and a final six-month finish in Kilchoman peated whisky casks, an unusual combination for a rum of this origin. The nose is earthy and peated, with heavy florals, cigar box, and dried fig, while the palate carries intense peat smoke alongside candied fruit and dry vanilla. The finish turns toward tobacco, nuts, and malt, a direct echo of the Islay cask finish. At 49.6% ABV and bottled from a single vintage year, this is a sipping rum for drinkers who enjoy smoky, whisky-adjacent character. 750ml.
