Planteray Extreme No. 3 HJC (bottled under the Plantation name prior to the brand's 2024 rebrand) is a 22-year-old, single-marque Jamaican rum distilled in 1996 at the legendary Long Pond distillery and bottled from the HJC marque, one of Long Pond's high-ester pot still styles. Cask strength at 56.2% ABV, it opens with an intense, funky nose of lacquer, glue, and solvent before giving way to ripe tropical fruit like mango, papaya, and banana. A long, dry finish of oak, licorice, and baking spice follows, typical of Long Pond's most assertive marks after over two decades in cask. This is a serious, high-proof collector's rum best suited to patient neat tasting rather than mixing, and it's part of a limited two-bottle Extreme No. 3 release alongside the ITP marque. 750ml.
