Mad Angler Heirloom Wheated Bourbon Whiskey comes from Iron Fish Distillery in Thompsonville, Michigan, built on a mash bill of 70% Michigan heirloom corn, 16% Michigan wheat, and 14% Michigan malted barley — all grown in-state. Non-chill-filtered and bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV), it's part of the Mad Angler line that's become a signature release for the distillery. Using heirloom corn instead of modern hybrid varieties gives the mash bill a different starting point, often bringing out more texture and complexity than a standard corn-forward bourbon. This is Batch #1 of the Heirloom expression, a limited release that highlights Iron Fish's focus on Michigan-grown grain from field to bottle.
