Wine Enthusiast 90 Points A Red wine from Veneto, Italy. Made from Molinara, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Corvina, Rondinella. A well-balanced Amarone that still exhibits much of the dark fruit flavors, earth, and meaty components expected of this DOC. Aromas of black cherry and prunes joined by beefy and earthy aromas. Moves along the palate nicely with a mix of dark and dried fruit with some meatiness on the finish. Elegant but exhibiting good concentration. Amarone Della Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy- Deep ruby red, this is full-bodied, with a very complex nose of dried fruit and almonds with a hint of anise. The flavors are extremely rich with a long, smooth finish. This opens with aromas of black currant, crushed violet, resin, and a whiff of baking spice. Since it lacks the hefty structure of most Amarones it's more easygoing, offering red cherry, mint, and a hint of tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins.
