Nose & Taste Notes

Founded in 1973, Franciscan is known for their meticulous approach to crafting wine. The winery's home estate is located in the heart of Napa Valley's Oakville appellation, featuring well-draining soil that adds structure to the wines. Each load of grapes is kept separate until right before bottling, with Magnificat spending 20 months in oak. The resulting aromas evoke a mountain forest, with hints of sage, jasmine, truffle, and cherry wood. On the palate, expect flavors of juicy dark fruit, rich toffee, and dark-roasted coffee. This blend is primarily made up of 75% cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot, and small amounts of malbec, petit verdot, and cabernet franc.
