Always a reliable sparkler, Chandon's Brut succeeds in a slightly austere style that favors minerals and briskness over yeasty autolysis and dynamic fruit. It is suitably frothy in its bubbles but is just a touch on the candied side in its background flavors, and, as the result, it falls a shade short of full commendation.(CG) A nice, everyday bubbly that offers elegance at an affordable price. Chardonnay contributes crisp flavors of limes, wile Pinot Noir brings deeper flavors of cherries. A lovely wine that grows in the glass. (WE) Winery Notes: Classic balance typifies this refreshingly soft, yet dry wine. The wine delivers complex apple and pear characteristics accented by citrus spice over notes of almond and caramel in the bouquet.
