This finishing practice is commonly done in the scotch world and generally gives the whiskey a darker hue and flavor notes.Breckenridge Distillery is a "grain to glass" microdistillery founded and located in that most famous of all North American snow skiing locations, Breckenridge, Colorado. It is run by Bryan Nolt and Jordan Via, who met when Via was conducting a whiskey class in California attended by radiologist Bryan Nolt. They use a traditional copper pot-style still.
