The 2013 Pouilly-Fuissé from Barton & Guestier is 100% Chardonnay and is a must for lovers of this popular white grape variety who prefer the soft, floral, juicy style made famous in Pouilly-Fuissé. With minimal oak aging, what you get is a very pure expression of the Chardonnay grape, replete with notes of ripe stone fruit, white flowers, and a touch of clover honey. This makes a perfect pairing with tender white fish. While on the light side, this is an attractive, fruity wine. It has a creamy, soft feel to it with fresh pear flavors, as well as a touch of vanilla from the gentle wood aging. It's ready to drink now, but will be better in a year.
